Lake Monsters refer to all serpentine cryptids dwelling in Ladon Zone and Kraken Cove. The Luscas are not included in this thread because they are not specifically adapted to fresh water or saltwater, where as lake monsters, although able to survive in salt water for a short time, thrive in the lakes of Echidna Island. This thread is divided into three posts: Plesiosaur based lake monsters, Serpent based lake monsters, and Prehistoric whale based lake monsters.
Plesiosaur lake Monsters
Loch Ness Monster
Species Name: Cadbororsaurus ness
Category: Reptilian Aquatic Cryptid
Found In: Landon Zone
Description: A large blue plesiosaur-like creature (plesiosaurs are sea going reptiles that looked like long necked dinosaurs with fins instead of legs and short tails). Its head is topped by two long, beige horns that are actually its nostrils, which allow it to breathe air while being completely under water. Each of its four fins are tipped with three large, razor sharp claws. It has a long tail, unlike its supposed ancestors, which is tipped with a flat paddle. Its eyes, which are large to adapt to the darkness of Loch ness, are generally yellow and green.
Height: 25 feet with neck held high
Weight: 3 tons
Length: 70 feet from nose to tail
Durability: Can withstand all known bullet fire.
General Temperament: Loch Ness Monsters, like most Lake Monster cryptids, are docile and shy creatures who are slow to anger. They prefer to eat fish, though they hunt Luscas with passion.
Enemies: Luscas
Prey: Luscas
Special Abilities: With a hide almost impervious to bullet fire and speed that defies its bulk, Nessie is a powerful beast.
Morag
Species name: Cadborosaurus morar
Description: A brown Loch Ness Monster with red stripes and beady eyes.
Height: 15 feet with neck held high
Weight: 1 ton
Length: 45 feet from nose to tail
General Temperament: Morags are more attention seeking and predatory than Nessies, though they are still shy around humans and other land animals. They prefer to eat fish, though they hunt Luscas with passion.
Enemies: Luscas
Prey: Luscas
Special Abilities: In addition to owning hides that are almost impervious to bulletfire, Morags can release scalding hot water from a pocket in their throat. This water is collected while they are underwater to keep them from drowning and released when they are angered, mixing with trace amounts of sodium to form a spray of hot and occasionally buning water.
Caddy
Species name: Cadborosaurus willsi
Description: Very similar to Loch Ness Monsters, although the horns a top their heads are missing, replaced by a pair of normal nostrils and the end of their snouts. Caddies also have only one pair of flippers (small, clawed flaps of skin rest where their back flippers would be) and a flat, paddle-like tail tip.
Height: 20 feet with neck held high
Weight: 3 tons
Length: 60 feet from nose to tail
Durability: Can withstand all known bullet fire.
General Temperament: Cadborosaurus, like most Lake Monster cryptids, are docile and shy creatures who are slow to anger. They prefer to eat fish, though they hunt Luscas. with passion. They prefer to avoid human contact, prefering to be alone.
Enemies: Luscas
Prey: Luscas, fish
Special Abilities: With a hide almost impervious to bullet fire and speed that defies its bulk, the Cadborosaurus is a powerful beast.
